Summary: Pond Flag 704 Details: *Pond Flag 704:  *There have been two previous service requests (CSR26-00093544 on March 30, 2026 and CSR26-00127134 on April 27, 2026) for replacing the fence at this address in the last six months.  It was believed that the wood privacy fences were owned and replaced by the individual home owners.  Watershed sent a representative to speak with the owner of the residence at 6605 Marble Creek Loop on March 30, 2026 to explain this.  I also called and left a voice mail for the most recent (current) customer who created the service request and restated the same information.   However, it has come to my attention that the City of Austin maintenance crews did, in fact, replace some of the wood privacy fencing around the pond in September 2023.  However, it was never established if the City was responsible for maintaining this fencing and the budget for replacing fencing in the maintenance group was depleted.  I have contacted the ponds inspection group to see if they can help me determine who is responsible for maintaining the wood privacy fences.  Once this determination is made, we will let the customer know.   .

Summary: Investigation Response Details: I called the Homeowners Association representative to discuss the electric bill for the retention/irrigation system at this site.  The billing period for the electric bill was July 8 to August 8th during which there was over 3 inches of rain, so the system was running.  Although there was rain in June, the bill may have been lower because the system was down due to a bad contactor.  The system has 1 phase power which is less efficient than 3 phase power that some of the other nearby systems may run on. I asked the Homeowners Association representative to reach out if the next bill is high.  It should not be since there has been no rain this month. .

Summary: Pond Flag 487 Details: *Update 9-2-26: * I did not receive a return call from the customer.  The contractor is planning to go out to this site and complete the maintenance.  They communicated that the water was inundated with an invasive plant species (Alligator Weed) which they removed quite a bit of last year and are planning to remove again.  Because it's invasive, it is illegal to transport without a permit so they are going to spread it out on the banks around the pond until it dries out and then they will mulch it.  This should help the functioning of the pond and its aesthetic value.   .

Summary: Pond Flags 184 and 194 Details: * Pond Flags 184 and 194: * These two ponds are adjacent to one another on Palace Parkway.  Both ponds are on the Wildflower Meadow Program and, as such, are maintained twice per year: February and August.  Ponds on the Wildflower Meadow Program are not mowed between March and July to give the flowers a chance to grow, bloom and go to seed.  Due contractor turnover, the August schedule is behind schedule.  However, we have hired an additional contractor to help with the backlog of work in September.  These ponds will be completed by the end of September.  .

Summary: Pond Falg 294 Details: * Pond Flag 294:  *This pond is maintained four times per year:  January, April, June and October.  The last time this pond was maintained was on May 29, 2026, which was a few days early for the June schedule. It is on the schedule next for October; however, upon review I realized this was probably too big of a gap in maintenance so I am going to put this pond on the September schedule going forward.  I sent the customer an email letting her know and included a copy of the photo that the contractor uploaded for their invoice for the May 29th mowing.  .

Summary: Investigation Details: On 8/20/26 the inspector contacted a representative of the apartment complex notifying them of the allegation of trash being thrown into the stormwater basin(s). The inspector requested they look for the trash and remove and dispose of properly. The inspector offered contact information for assistance with homeless outreach if needed. .

Summary: Pond Flag 1063 Details: *Pond Flag 1063*:  This pond is located on land owned by Parkridge Gardens Owners Association Inc.  The vegetation maintenance provided by the City of Austin does not include maintenance that does not directly benefit the functioning of the pond.  Removing or pruning trees for aesthetic reasons is not included in the maintenance budget.  I related this information to the customer in an email today, August 18, 2026.   .
