Drainage Pond Maintenance
9211 Waterford Centre Blvd, AustinCLOSED #26-00089529Referred to 311 For Further Review - Close SR. Summary: Please transfer to Transportation Public Works Details: After investigating and speaking with Chris Meyers, these are privately owned and maintained commercial ponds that do not belong to Watershed. This is in the right of way, and our systems are functioning properly in the area. The small trash items would not present a flooding risk. These Cages were installed to prevent encampments. If they are back, the Homeless Strategic Office may need to be contacted or code enforcement. Thank you.

Drainage Pond Maintenance
302 W Skyview Rd, AustinGraffiti
CLOSED #26-00088471Vegetation Maintenance - Close SR. Summary: Pond Flag 556 Details: Pond Flag 556: Email Response to the customer: Good Morning! In response to your service request (CSR26-00088464) about mosquitoes near the pond located at Dillard Circle: Is this pond holding water? This pond is maintained three times annually. The contractor last mowed the pond on February 17, 2026. In addition, Waller Creek runs adjacent to the pond between it and the school to the northwest. However, typically mosquitoes do not like to lay their eggs in open water, moving water or deep water. They prefer to lay their eggs in very shallow, still water that collects in things like old tires, gutters, plant pots, tarps, and the like. The warmer weather always brings an influx of mosquitoes to our area. Watershed recommends looking around your own yard to see if you can determine any source of shallow, still water they may be laying their eggs in. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me. After receiving the email, the customer called me. She stated that the pond is retaining water 12 months a year. She stated in the past the City has added gambusia to help control mosquitoes. I wasn't aware this was a "wet pond". It is listed as a biofiltration pond. I sent an email to several people internally to determine if the pond is supposed to hold water or not and, if not, if there are plans to address the lack of water drainage. Waiting for a response. .
