Bicycle Issues
3258 West Ave, AustinWhy the speed bumps on West Ave from 29th to 38th? I see there are also bike route markings on the street as well, but the new speed bumps make it a much less comfortable bike ride. I’ve commuted by bike on that street for years and never had a problem with speeding cars. Will probably end up riding some other route without speed bumps (which may unfortunately be less safe)
CLOSED #25-00346882Evaluated/Addressed Issue - Close SR. The speed bumps added on West between 38th and 34th are part of the North University-Heritage-Rosedale Neighborhood Bikeways. These bumps are designed for cyclists to use safely. The cutouts asked for in the request are used for pedestrians when there are not sidewalks on a street. West has a continuous sidewalk on the east side.
