No Work Planned - No Problem Found - Close SR. Summary: Pond functioning as designed-email to complaintant Details: Hello,   I'm writing to respond to a recent 311 drainage complaint about the Grand Oaks Water Quality Pond, located along South Boggy Creek and Menchaca Road.   The pond is designed to capture and treat the runoff from the Grand Oaks subdivision.  The pond was designed to maintain a permanent pool of stormwater to be treated by vegetation/biological uptake.   https://library.municode.com/tx/austin/codes/environmental_criteria_manual?nodeId=S1WAQUMA_1.6.0DEGUWAQUCO_1.6.6DEGUWEPO   In addition, the pond is designed to detain flood flows from the development for the 2, 10, 25, and 100-year storm events.   Any flows above the permanent pool elevation are discharged through the large concrete outlet structure pipes and a smaller "inverted outlet" pipe, which is what pictured in the 311 drainage complaint.   The water flowing from the outlet structure and inverted outlet pipe was flood volume from recent rain events.  The pond was functioning as designed.   I visited the site on the afternoon of Monday 7/20/26 and found the outlet dry and inverted outlet pipe no longer flowing, which means the pond level has drained down to the permanent pool level.   Attached are the design plans for the pond, indicating the permanent pool level and respective flood storage levels.   I hope that this information is helpful.   I'm happy to answer questions you may have about stormwater ponds.   Best regards,.

Vegetation Maintenance - Close SR. Summary: Pond Flag 258Details: After attempting to call the customer at 9:28 AM, I followed up with this email:Good Morning Jessica,I am following up with this email after my attempted phone call just now. I did also leave you a voice mail. To answer your question about a specific date scheduled to maintain the pond on Aldea Drive: I am sorry but I cannot provide that information. The contractor has to consider the weather, number of employees who show up to work, contracts they have with other entities or even other city departments, among probably a dozen other variables. Rainy weather like we have been having the past two days can really delay their ability to get into the ponds. When the ground is very saturated their equipment can get stuck and it can also cause ruts in the pond basins, which is not desirable. There is a list of ponds for each month of the year that the contractor must complete by the end of each month and that is the only real schedule I can provide. Before I started working in this position three years ago, there was not even a specific month scheduled for each pond. The year was divided up into quarters and each of the 600+ ponds on our Master List were maintained at some point within each three-month window. However, I have made changes so that ponds like yours with invasive Johnson Grass receive more frequent mowing (6x instead of 4x annually) and they receive more mowing during the Spring, when the grass is growing the fastest.Today is July 15th so we are right at the halfway mark for the month. There are still two more weeks left in the month for the contractor to complete the work. I have notified them of every service request that you and others have made, as is my practice. However, it is up to them to complete the work in the order that makes the most logical sense to them.I apologize that I cannot provide a more specific date for the mowing. I wish I could. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.Have a great day!A picture containing text, clipartAI-generated content may be incorrect. <data:image/png;base64,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.

Vegetation Maintenance - Close SR. Summary: Pond Flag 10 Details: *Update:  *Garrett Powell, with the ponds maintenance crews, and I visited the pond this morning 7/22/26.  It is holding water but, Garrett did not think it was impairing the functioning of the pond.  There is fenced area with a cottonwood tree that once had a silt screen and sand/gravel to filter the water that was fed by underground pipes into the grated overflow area to the south.  The silt screen has deteriorated and some silt has infiltrated the fenced area, which may be impacting the draining of the pond.  However, it should not be impairing the overall functioning of the pond.  Garrett said he would create a work order for the silt screen to be repaired in the future; however, it was not a high priority.   .
