Drainage Pond Maintenance
201 W Alpine Rd, AustinCLOSED #25-00258632Vegetation Maintenance - Close SR. Class: SR Created By: Log Type: VEG_MAINTENANCE Summary: Buffer 296.1 Details *Buffer 296.1: * This Buffer is scheduled for monthly maintenance. In recent years the contractor was missing this area along the east side of the pond behind the businesses which face Congress Avenue. In December Watershed asked the contractor to do some extensive maintenance to clean this neglected area of the buffer, which they did. However, their monthly documentation photos submitted with their invoices have not included this area and so, it appears they have been neglecting it again. I sent an email to the contractor, including the map and photos, letting them know Watershed expects this side of the buffer to be maintained each month. I also requested that they start submitting photos for all three sides of the pond that are included in the buffer each month. In addition I will be inspecting this buffer each month before the invoice will be paid. The contractor should be out to the pond within the next week to complete the maintenance. .

Drainage Pond Maintenance
10825 Dinah Dr, AustinThe floodwater reservoir owned by the city, next to 10825 Dinah Drive, needs to be mowed and weeded. The overgrowth is so bad, it is growing over our home’s fence—damaging the fence. And, since the property reservoir is next to a green belt, the overgrowth poses a snake risk—potentially exposing our pets and other pets in the neighborhood.

Drainage Pond Maintenance
10424 Lakeline Mall Dr, AustinRequest to put bubbler or fountain in pond to cut down algae
CLOSED #25-00251226No Work Planned - No Problem Found - Close SR. Class: SR Created By: Log Type: NO_PROBLEMFOUND Summary: Algal bloom attributable to recent rain. No action taken. Details On Friday, the 25th of July, I inspected the site to follow-up on a citizen complaint regarding algae in the stormwater control measure (SCM). There is a lot of algae in the pond, but the citizen's request to install a pump or fountain in the pond is outside of our ability to enforce, since none was approved as part of the site plan. In addition, the amount of algae is expected to diminish as the amount currently observed is probably due to the recent heavy rainfall events providing an influx of nutrients and a following period of warmth and stillness. file://///COACD.ORG/DFS/PIERIMAGES/SubDivision/97/C8-97-0123.1B(R4)_1/SCP-C8-97-0123.1B(R4)_1~109(1).TIF In addition, the SCM is healthy, with a good vegetative bench and a lot of Gambusia affinis. And though water is higher than expected at the outlet, this appears to be related to an undetermined drainage issue that may be related to recent rains and unrelated to algal buildup. One small area of erosion was noted near a headwall; however, it does not currently pose a threat to the stability of the headwall. A notice of violation was not issued; however, the erosional area should be filled as part of routine maintenance in the future. JNB .
