Drainage Pond Maintenance
2813 Marcus Abrams Blvd, AustinCLOSED · #26-00218702PRPRISCS. Summary: Issue is the aerator pump which COA does not maintain. Details: On July 7, 2026, I called the citizen to get more information regarding the pump she was referring to in the complaint. The citizen identified herself as a newly elected board member of the Homeowner's Association. She that she and others on the new board were not given any continuity regarding the pond maintenance but that the aerator appeared to not be functioning. This site is one that I recently resolved a similar complaint about and I told the Homeowner's Association board member that I would forward my emails regarding discussions I had with the property manager. I told her that since the City of Austin does not maintain the aerator, because it was not part of the site plan, we would not be taking any action. She understood that and asked if she could ask me future questions about stormwater control measures in general. I said that she could. We discussed dogs being allowed in the pond area and I said that we did not disallow it but would cite a violation if we observed excessive pet waste, which I had not previously and did not today in my visit. I told her that there could be a potential issue with pets and ponds if blue-green algae were to form on the water. However, I told her I had not observed that previously (I also did not today). They are looking at cutting off the maintenance of the aerator and pond in general and I told her that COA will maintain it for all plan-specified issues; however, not the aerator or things that might arise because of cessation of the aerator, which could include algal growth. Drainage Pond Maintenance
2108 Sombra Cv, AustinCLOSED · #26-00217992Vegetation Maintenance - Close SR. Summary: Pond Flag 735 Details: *Pond Flag 735*: This pond is on our Wildflower Meadow Program and, as such, has a reduced maintenance schedule of twice per year: February and August. This allows the wildflowers to grow, bloom and go to seed for next years blooms. I know we had a lot of rain this Spring and it's caused an abundance of growth in the grasses that are likely overtaking the wildflowers. Plus the wildflowers are naturally fading and going to seed right now. It's a scraggly time of year and "unsightly" to some; however, August is not too far away so, I'm asking your patience for just a little longer. I will let the contractor know about your service request and they will hopefully be able to prioritize this pond in their schedule for August.

1813 Melissa Oaks Ln, AustinCLOSED · #26-00215838Future Work Scheduled - Close SR. Summary: Stormwater Control Measure has been mowed. Details: On Thursday, July 2, 2026, Joseph Bell with the Pond Inspection and Dam Safety program of Austin Watershed Protection visited the site to look into the complaint of the citizen requesting service. The inspection occurred later in the afternoon, approximately 4:00 PM, and, upon arrival, the basin was determined to have been recently mowed, resolving the caller's concern. The citizen was called but did not respond to the call. A message was left regarding the findings with a return call number if the citizen has any questions. While there, a routine inspection was performed, and the stormwater control measure was found to have sediment blocking flow from the inlet. Appreciable sediment has accumulated and must be removed. Therefore, a Notice of Violation will be issued to the owner of the land upon which the stormwater control measure is located. This summary is being used to address both Citizen Service Requests for this facility, since both concern the same issue and were filed by the same individual. JNB.
