Flooding Event Documented - Close SR. Class: SR Created By: Log Type: DOCUMENTFLOODING Summary: Lot to Lot Flooding Documented Details Janna Renfro, Melissa Carugati, and Heather Peart met with the resident Ms. Ann Omoegbele on 5/30/2025. Ms. Omoegbele described that she experiences flooding due to the redevelopment of the neighboring property at 2201 Pennsylvania. The house that was on the lot was demolished and two new homes were built, increasing the amount of roof runoff that drains directly to Ms. Omoegbele's property. The roof lines are pitched such that most of the roof area drains directly to her side yard.  The amount of water is too much and it builds up against her slab foundation and enters her home through a side door. WPD staff informed Ms. Omoegbele that the City does not have authority to manage flooding between private property owners and her course of action would need to be through a civil lawsuit. During the visit with Ms. Omoegbele, the owner of the neighboring property, Darryl, came outside and we discussed the issues that Ms. Omoegbele was experiencing since the development of his property. He was willing to assist with contracted labor to provide some drainage improvements, like a small channel to get the water away from Ms. Omoegbele's home and to her front yard. We provided our information to Ms. Omoegbele for any future questions.

The homes and the alley that are ponding were constructed 30 years ago, and the resident that is flooding here has a new home. In February 11, 2025 her residence flooded approximate 4ft in garage, spread. She says she has videos and has been trying to solve this problem for 2.5 years.
