1311 E Yager Ln, AustinPlease don’t put bike lanes back on east Yager lane! I’m a biker and never use Austin bike lanes because it’s to dangerous especially on East Yager lane. I use the nice big sidewalk on Yager. So much safer and better. Cars drive unusually fast on east Yager lane. Those plastic pylons do not stop a distracted car driver from hitting a biker.

The zicla barriers and flex posts are used in the curb extension to reduce crossing distances for pedestrians. Additionally, the curb extension helps slow down vehicles with the narrower lane. No problem was found with the placement of these devices.

2305 S Congress Ave, AustinThere’s a long segment of unprotected bike lane on S Congress north of Oltorf because of the bus stop but also lots of driveways. But the property closed and installed permanent fences across all but one driveway on Post Road, so it would be great to install protection for the bike lane where not needed for bus access, about 80’ I think. Posts could be reused from the flex post curb extension at Post Rd, or removed with new ones installed, to help declutter the corner.
CLOSED · #26-00101851Evaluated/Addressed Issue - Close SR. Thank you for contacting Austin Transportation & Public Works (ATPW). Area engineer staff did not permit driveway closures, but a WO has been created to add some flex posts around curve to prevent vehicle intrusion into bike lane.
