Bicycle Issues
2435 San Jacinto Blvd, AustinSan Jacinto between Dean Keaton and MLK is a death trap for cyclists, despite being one of the only available north-south routes. Please consider either (1) a protected bike lane or (2) at minimum, speed bumps to prevent excessive speeding and protect bikes and pedestrians. Cars go way too fast for this to be a safe bike route despite it being a primary route for bikes and scooters through campus.
CLOSED · #26-00072875Evaluated/Addressed Issue - Close SR. Thank you for contacting Austin Transportation and Public Works. San Jacinto between Dean Keeton and MLK has been identified for protected bike lanes. At this time, there is no dedicated funding for this project. This will also require coordination between the city and UT.
