The contractor has to consider the weather, number of employees who show up to work, contracts they have with other entities or even other city departments, among probably a dozen other variables. Rainy weather like we have been having the past two days can really delay their ability to get into the ponds. When the ground is very saturated their equipment can get stuck and it can also cause ruts in the pond basins, which is not desirable.There is a list of ponds for each month of the year that the contractor must complete by the end of each month and that is the only real schedule I can provide. Before I started working in this position three years ago, there was not even a specific month scheduled for each pond. The year was divided up into quarters and each of the 600+ ponds on our Master List were maintained at some point within each three-month window. However, I have made changes so that ponds like yours with invasive Johnson Grass receive more frequent mowing (6x instead of 4x annually) and they receive more mowing during the Spring, when the grass is growing the fastest.Today is July 15th so we are right at the halfway mark for the month. There are still two more weeks left in the month for the contractor to complete the work. I have notified them of every service request that you and others have made, as is my practice.
