Summary: Pond Flag 735 Details: *Pond Flag 735*:  This pond is on our Wildflower Meadow Program and, as such, has a reduced maintenance schedule of twice per year: February and August. This allows the wildflowers to grow, bloom and go to seed for next years blooms.  I know we had a lot of rain this Spring and it's caused an abundance of growth in the grasses that are likely overtaking the wildflowers.  Plus the wildflowers are naturally fading and going to seed right now.  It's a scraggly time of year and "unsightly" to some; however, August is not too far away so, I'm asking your patience for just a little longer.  I will let the contractor know about your service request and they will hopefully be able to prioritize this pond in their schedule for August.

Details: On Thursday, July 2, 2026, Joseph Bell with the Pond Inspection and Dam Safety program of Austin Watershed Protection visited the site to look into the complaint of the citizen requesting service. The inspection occurred later in the afternoon, approximately 4:00 PM, and, upon arrival, the basin was determined to have been recently mowed, resolving the caller's concern. The citizen was called but did not respond to the call. A message was left regarding the findings with a return call number if the citizen has any questions. While there, a routine inspection was performed, and the stormwater control measure was found to have sediment blocking flow from the inlet. Appreciable sediment has accumulated and must be removed. Therefore, a Notice of Violation will be issued to the owner of the land upon which the stormwater control measure is located. This summary is being used to address both Citizen Service Requests for this facility, since both concern the same issue and were filed by the same individual. JNB.

Summary: Pond Flag 666 Details: * Pond Flag 666: * This pond is on our Wildflower Meadow Program and, as such, it is maintained three times per year: February, August and November.  It not maintained between February and August to give the wildflowers a chance to grow, bloom and go to seed-- leaving potential for wildflowers the following Spring.  Even in the photos submitted by the customer, I can see some wildflowers still blooming in the tall grass.  The contractor who mows this pond would like to get a head start on mowing the Wildflower Meadow ponds this year and I have given them permission to start as early as July 15th.  I will let them know about this service request and they can prioritize the maintenance accordingly.  .

Summary: Pond Flag 51 Details: *Pond Flag 51*:  Received a text message from the customer about the contractor missing the area behind her home on Saturday June 27th.  This morning (June 29th) I sent the contractor an email with a copy of the pond polyon map attached and also a screenshot from the MOWs map showing the area they missed.  I included the crew's supervisors and contractor's management team and also let them know the customer talked to the crews who told the customer the area wasn't part of the pond maintenance.  I have asked the contractor return to the pond to complete the work by the end of the day Friday, July 3rd.  I let the contractor know they will not be allowed to invoice for this work or be paid for it until the work is completed.
