Road Markings/Striping - New

911 E 43rd St, Austin

CLOSED #24-00145314

Field Inspection Conducted - Close SR. 4/25/24 - I talked with Sandra Gray about her concerns that the delineators are an eye sore on 43rd Street and 47th Street. I explained to her our city standard placements of putting delineator in the immediate vicinity of speed cushions to prevent vehicles from bypassing the speed cushions and to maintain 3 feet from face of curb to allow for bike, pedestrians, and wheelchair access while maximizing the amount of on-street parking and as of right now we have no plans on removing the delineators. She wanted more information on why they were installed and if she can go to her city council member. I told her she can submit a PIR for the information on speed cushions and delineators and that she is more than welcome to contact her city council member. She had no further questions. Laura from Active Transportation and Street Design is going to review the concerns and evaluate for a possible remedy. No further action required at this time.
