Park - Tree Issues

Created Work Order. Tree is in decline and has a fatal fungal infection. A work order will be created to removal all dead, dying and significantly compromised portions of the tree. A submission for pruning by Austin Energy will proceed the work by Urban Forestry. The site has been heavily compacted for more than 10 years, including the ongoing droubts dating back to 2011, and successive years of droughts and hard freezes. This compounding of extremes stressors, along with the irreperable root damage of heavily compacted soil created by establishing a high-traffic dog park that promotes sheet-flow of water (inability for water to reach roots), has fatal conditions for the tree.
