Field Inspection Conducted - Close SR. I sent the below email on August 20, 2025. Good morning Mallory, This is Stephen Barkley with the City of Austin Transportation and Public Works Department. I'm following up on a voicemail I left for you regarding your 311 inquiry about a view obstruction located at 2409 West Slaughter Lane. On August 13, 2025, I conducted a field visit to the site location and did notice some tall grass when exiting out of the driveway located just east of 2407 West Slaughter Lane. While the grass is somewhat tall, it does not constitute a view obstruction. If you are unable to view eastbound traffic traveling along West Slaughter Lane, you do have the option to slowly pull forward and pull up to the bike lane to view eastbound traffic. If you feel uncomfortable turning out of the driveway onto West Slaughter Lane, you do have the option to turn onto West Slaughter Lane from Gail Road. To be of further assistance I have created a new customer service request (25-00282632) to request a Code Officer to see if they can compel the property owner to have the section of grass mowed. However, I am uncertain if the tall grass at this location does actually constitute a Code violation. Thank you again for contacting the City. If there is anything else I can assist you with, please let me know. Regards, Stephen.
