No Action Needed - Close SR. Summary: See details. Details: Per engineer: This resurfacing request - WO 26-209047 - is related to the railroad track repair at the ICU Medical location. ICU Medical is the owner of the track and is working to set a time frame for the track repair. The track replacement will include repaving about 100 feet on either side of the track. The track repair has to occur before the paving can be done. No time frame has been set for the track replacement, and TPW is in talks with the track owner to expedite the repair. The track and paving repair will require a total road closure with signed detours. Drivers will be informed of any road closures with message boards about a week before the work starts. Once completed, no other resurfacing is needed - or expected - on this section of Howard Lane. Until then, temporary spot repairs are being made as needed. Ryan Harding (ryan.harding@austintexas.gov) is the TPW contact if more information is needed. Note that Howard Lane (Mopac to McNeil Dr) is in "satisfactory" condition (Grade A to B), except for the 200-foot section on either side of the railroad track at the 4128 ICU Medical location, which is in "unsatisfactory" condition (Grade D). Normally, for street sections in Grade A & B, no resurfacing is expected for the next 4 to 6 years. Street sections in Grade D are safe but may need frequent patching until a mill and overlay is scheduled, usually within 1 to 3 years after utility coordination and other adjacent site issues are resolved. If you have questions regarding resurfacing or the street grades, please contact Ron Koehn at Ron.Koehn@austintexas.gov.
