Traffic Signal - Maintenance

Issue Has Been Resolved - Close SR. Spoke with the community member on the phone and they requested to know why the southbound permissive left turn was removed and the signal only serves during the protective green. I mentioned that the left turns on Congress to turn on Lightsey/Woodward were changed to protective left turn only due to the number of crashes and severity of those crashes throughout all times of the day and night, one of them being a fatality. This map can be used to zoom into any intersection and see what crash data is present. The community member mentioned over the phone that the southbound left turn onto Woodward has not come up and that she had to run the light. I mentioned that the vehicle detector camera for that approach had moved and was not pointing at the approach. We believe this happened recently when one of the thunderstorms with high winds had occurred. I went in and programmed the southbound left to come up at all times of the day to ensure service to vehicles. I scheduled maintenance for the vehicle detector camera to be done in order to restore the signal to full function. The community member also mentioned that she feels like she waits a long time waiting for the light on both Woodward and on making the southbound left during the evening period. I went in and looked at our data analytics of the intersection during the evening period and made adjustments timing tweaks. I will continue to monitor the intersection to ensure that vehicles are being called at the intersection and that they are being served the appropriate amount of time. Thank you.
