- The 72-Hour Rule Austin city ordinance § 12-5-11 prohibits parking a self-propelled motor home or other motor vehicle containing a permanently installed sleeping facility or human sanitary treatment or disposal facility on a public street or alley for longer than 72 continuous hours. They have been parked for 144 continuous hours, which is a clear-cut violation of this rule. Please ticket again or tow and enforce the law.
