- This bar is a frequent flyer of going above and beyond the reasonable sound limits for this street. It is sandwiched between TWO residential high rises. If you surveyed residents in each, they’d agree it is excessive. The sub woofer or bass system is out of line. And entirely unreasonably loud. I am so tired of having to blast my own noise machine in futile efforts to drown out this bar’s horrendous sound system - it’s getting exhausting not being able to sleep or rest.

Citation Issued - Close SR. A COMPLAINT WAS RECEIVED THROUGH THE CITY OF AUSTIN 311 SYSTEM REGARDING POTENTIAL OUTDOOR MUSIC VIOLATIONS AT HALF STEP. UPON INVESTIGATION, SOUND LEVEL MEASUREMENTS INDICATED THE VENUE WAS OPERATING ABOVE THE PERMITTED DECIBEL LIMITS AND CONTINUING OUTDOOR MUSIC OPERATIONS BEYOND THE AUTHORIZED CUTOFF TIME. THE CITY OF AUSTIN HOLDS OUTDOOR MUSIC VENUES TO STRICT COMPLIANCE STANDARDS TO PROTECT SURROUNDING RESIDENTS AND MAINTAIN ADHERENCE TO LOCAL ORDINANCES. AS A RESULT OF THE OBSERVED VIOLATIONS, A CITATION WAS ISSUED TO THE ESTABLISHMENT. UPON NOTIFICATION OF THE VIOLATIONS, VENUE STAFF IMMEDIATELY DISCONTINUED OUTDOOR MUSIC OPERATIONS. THE FRONT DESK CLERK WAS INFORMED OF THE FINDINGS, THE APPLICABLE ORDINANCE REQUIREMENTS, AND THE ENFORCEMENT ACTION TAKEN. COMPLIANCE WAS ACHIEVED AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION FOLLOWING CESSATION OF OUTDOOR MUSIC ACTIVITIES.
