- Why were the Manor Rd ped islands destroyed? We very much hope this is a temporary measure. These islands are brand new, cost the city a lot of money to implement, and are in constant use by the people living and visiting this neighborhood. I will save my strong criticisms of removing these until after I know if this is a temporary measure.
