  • Drainage Pond Maintenance

    10424 Lakeline Mall Dr, Austin

    CLOSED #26-00019232

No Work Planned - No Problem Found - Close SR. Class: SR Created By: Log Type: NO_PROBLEMFOUND Summary: Site visit to compliant WP pond. No further action needed. Details Site visit following up on a report of a dead raccoon around a bench and/or walking trail despite dead animals not being within the purview of typical pond inspections or responses.  I was unable to locate the alleged dead raccoon, so I assume it was either picked up and discarded or it was dragged off by another animal (nature being nature).    This pond has received numerous calls over the past 2-3 years and in every instance there hasn't been a real issue.  The caller(s) of the 311 never requests a callback, so we have been unable to explain/educate as to why something is or isn't an issue.   Also, it's entirely possible that folks living adjacent to this wet pond believe it to be owned and maintained by the City of Austin when, in fact, it is not.  It's privately owned by Northwoods Owners Association Inc. and regularly maintained by Goodwin Management, Inc., so future minor concerns should be directed to them.

    Washed out neighborhood drainage overflow.

    CLOSED #26-00011067

Future Work Scheduled - Close SR. Class: SR Created By: Log Type: WO_CREATED Summary: Berm overflow undermined. Issuing NOV. Details On January 15, 2026, I inspected the site to determine if the information submitted in the pictures was associated with a functional component of the stormwater control measure (SCM) or just the concrete path. I also inspected other components of the SCM. My determinations are as follows: 1. The erosion is occurring at a joint in concrete where the beginning of the funnel for the berm overflow occurs. Therefore, it is recognized as potentially threatening the integrity of the SCM and its function. The erosion must be filled in and the concrete repaired to prevent further erosion. In addition, all but one of the inlets are entrained with sediment and flow is blocked at these locations. One of the inlets has standing water. Sediment must be removed, the area of the inlets restored to grade, and the area revegetated consistent with its biofiltration use.  A notice of violation will be sent to the property owner on 1/21/2026. JNB.
